Test the Earwise iPhone app

Your articles, PDFs and course readings, read aloud from the share sheet to the lock screen. It is in beta, and we would like you on it.

Invites go out by email within a day. You need an iPhone on iOS 17 or later.

What you are signing up for

Earwise reads to you. Share a web page, a PDF or an email newsletter to the app, and it comes back as a natural voice with the text on screen and the current sentence marked. Lock-screen and AirPods controls work, your place is kept across phone and browser, and a Canvas course can send its assignments straight in.

The beta is the real app, a few weeks ahead of the App Store. New builds arrive about weekly through TestFlight. Some things will be rough: a slow first open on a big textbook, a voice that says a name wrong, a PDF whose columns come out in the wrong order. When that happens, a screenshot from inside TestFlight or a line to hello@earwise.app is exactly the help we need.

Nothing you share is sold, shown to advertisers, or used to train a model. You can export or delete everything from Settings at any time.

How the install works

  1. Install TestFlight from the App Store. It is Apple's free app for beta software. Search "TestFlight" or ask Siri.
  2. Open the invite on your iPhone. The email has a link that opens in TestFlight. Tap Install and Earwise appears on your home screen like any app.
  3. Share your first reading. In Safari, tap Share, then Earwise. It lands in the app, ready to play.
